I have taken 5 elk with Bobby Lane. 3 bulls and 2 cows. 2 of the bulls were archery kills. I have also taken a 180 6X6 muley. The bulls taken with my bow were called in to 25 yards, unbelievable calling/bugling. My success with Bobby is 100%. I have been bow hunting for whitetails for 25 years and hunting with Bobby Lane has been some of the best hunting experiences/memories in my hunting career.

I want to thank Bobby Lane, Andy, Jake and Mr Rex of Pack String Outfitters for an amazing hunt of a lifetime. I have wanted to kill an elk since I was a child. They worked their butts off to make it happen for me. And with archery equipment too. We saw so many elk and to have a big bull running in screaming is something so awesome that I can't even explain it. It definitely makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck. If you ever want to experience something like this give them a call. They are the best at what they do, and did everything possible to get an elk in front of me even with several days of bad weather. Thanks again guys for a dream come true. I will never forget this, and I hope to see you boys again next year. Thanks Bill Johnson for making me go.

I went hunting with Bobby the owner and in 4 hunts we called in 13 elk. Never in my life have I experienced elk hunting like that. The first evening we hunted Bobby called in 6 elk from 500 yards and they came in at a full run kicked up dust looked like a stampede. Most amazing elk hunting I have ever seen. Thanks Bobby at Pack String Ranch Outfitters.

I was very pleased with everything about my October 2015 Second Season Gun Elk Hunt. I have been to Wyoming and New Mexico on guided Elk hunts with professional outfitters and yours was by far the best of the three hunts by a long shot. I was successful in WY and should have been in NM, but I missed. I say this, because it gives me a base on how to compare what happens after you shoot your elk. I was very impressed with the quality of the gear, especially the cots and the tents and your range finders and shooting sticks, since those are crucial to a good experience. The horses were wonderful and your “wrangler” was great at making sure that I had a horse and saddle to fit me perfectly for the ride up to and back down from camp. Your guys are very fun and I really enjoyed the time with them. Very impressed also with the hi tech gear every one of your guys had. Solar chargers was something I never saw before at elk camp. It is a good thing when you want to listen to the NOAA weather broadcast to see what the snow is or is not doing on your marine band radio. Food was great, gear was great, people are great and your guys getting my bull elk out made it effortless for me. I loved every minute of it. Thank you for making this experience the best elk hunt ever for me. I have shot bear in Alaska, Caribou above the arctic circle too, and this was the most fun because of the terrain and the people. The Flat Tops is a great area once you get there.

JUST GOT BACK LAST MONTH FROM MY FIRST GUIDED ELK HUNT IN THE FLATTOPS OF COLORADO. BOB, DOUG AND I HAD BOOKED OUR TRIP THE PREVIOUS YEAR WITH PACK STRING OUTFITTERS WHEN PATRICK TOLD US HE HAD MADE A DEAL TO SELL OUT TO BOBBY LANE SO WE WOULD BE ONE OF HIS FIRST CLIENTS WITH BOBBY AS OWNER AND PATRICK’S LAST HUNT AS OWNER/GUIDE . ONCE WE MET BOBBY AND HIS GUIDES, SOME OF WHICH WE ALREADY KNEW FROM PREVIOUS MULE DEER HUNTS, I KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE FUN EVEN IF THE ANIMALS DIDN’T COOPERATE. THE WEATHER HAD BEEN WARM AND LUCK HAD IT WE GOT SNOW OUR SECOND DAY IN. THE DOCTOR HUNTING WITH HIS BROTHER FROM ARKANSAS HAD SHOT HIS ELK ON OPENING MORNING SO THE REST OF US HAD TO PICK UP OUR GAME. WE HUNTED MORNING AND EVENING WITH NO LUCK LIKE THE ELK HAD DISAPPEARED. FINALLY ON THE MORNING OF THE DAY 5, BOOBY AND KEVIN TOOK ME BACK TO THE SPOT THAT I HAD LIKED THE MOST AND BOTH BEGAN BUGLING FOR ME. WITHIN 5 MINUTES WE HAD A BULL STICK HIS HEAD OUT OF THE BRUSH AND DART BACK IN SO FAST I NEVER EVEN SAW HIM. WE DIDNT GIVE UP AND WITHIN ANOTHER 5 MINUTES A 4 x 4 AND A SPIKE STEPPED OUT AND I WAS ABLE TO BRING HIM DOWN.

IT WAS MY FIRST ELK SO HE IS GOING TO BE MOUNTED EVEN THOUGH MOST OTHER’S WOULD NOT HAVE SPENT THE MONEY FOR TAXIDERMY. I WAS ON A HIGH AS 5 HUNTERS WENT UP AND ONLY TWO BULLS HARVESTED, 1 OF WHICH WAS MINE. THE TENT CAMPING WAS COLD BUT THE FIRE WAS ALWAYS WARM WITH THE HELP OF A LITTLE WHISKEY NOW AND THEN. I LOOK FORWARD TO BRINGING MY OLDEST SON WITH ME IN THE FUTURE AND WHEN I DO IT WILL BE BOOKED WITH BOBBY LANE.
